High Ambitions:
Concrete, Steel, Glass, and Egos
Skyscrapers have changed our cityscape – but is change for change sake? This tour illuminates how design responds to the needs of the community, while heeding the financial goals of developers. Skyscrapers are a 20th-Century phenomena, and thus relatively recent additions to our built environment. This tour will explore how downtown zoning has evolved – and how it has changed the city.

This tour lasts approximately two hours and begins in Downtown Seattle in front of the Smith Tower, 502 Second Ave. at 10 am unless otherwise noted below. Advance registration is strongly encouraged; walk-ups are limited to space available. Tour cost $15 in advance/$25 day of.

Upcoming Tour Dates
Saturday: 3/12, 5/14, 7/30, 9/10, 11/12.
