The Sesquicentennial Celebration
Celebrate the University of Washington's 150th anniversary with these two tours:
Then and Now, the Metropolitan Tract, and Then and Now the AYP Exposition.
These tours are offered in partnership with MOHAI's "Then and Now" exhibit, which showcases historic photos of important
Seattle landmarks side by side with photos of those locations today.
NOW AND THEN: THE METROPOLITAN TRACT
Join us as we explore the area surrounding University Street, the former home of the Territorial University of Washington in what is now a thriving part of downtown Seattle. The tour will include photos of the old university in conjunction with discussions about current architecture and the development of the Metropolitan Tract. Tour covers multiple buildings, including the Cobb Building, 5th Avenue Theater, and the IBM Building.
This tour lasts approximately two hours and begins at the SAF Gallery, 1333 5th Ave, 3rd Floor, Rainier Square Atrium at 10 am unless otherwise noted below. Advance registration is strongly encouraged; walk-ups are limited to space available. The tour is $20 per person in advance, $25 in advance with booklet; MOHAI Members: $15 per person in advance, $25 in advance with booklet.

NOW AND THEN: The University of Washington
Relive the glory days of the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition and more as we tour the John Charles Olmsted-designed campus.
This tour lasts approximately two hours and begins at the George Washington statue which is in front of Meany Hall and the UW Visitors Center. Advance registration is strongly encouraged; walk-ups are limited to space available. The tour is $20 per person in advance, $25 in advance with booklet; MOHAI Members: $15 per person in advance, $20 in advance with booklet.
