This intergenerational workshop gives young people, third grade and up, the opportunity to be an architect for a day. Through discussion and hands-on activities, workshop participants create a community together. Come learn how building design elements such as scale, texture, pattern, and perspective impact communities and the ways people live, work, and play. Young architects will work with their family to build a model that they can take home with them. Participants also get a guided viewing of SAF’s permanent Blueprints: 100+ Years of Seattle Architecture exhibit.
This workshop is limited to twelve families. Each young architect must be accompanied by an adult. The August 16th workshop will be an extended day workshop from 10am - 4pm. The rest of the scheduled workshops will remain three hours long, 11:00am – 2:00pm.
For more information or to learn about family scholarships, contact the SAF office at 206-667-9184 or email Tracy@seattlearchitecture.org. Scholarships are available for this workshop thanks to the Carolyn Purser Scholarship Fund.
